About Us

Karna Kilburn

Karna Kilburn was born and raised on a farm in Gippsland. She then moved to Melbourne and worked in different areas of sales.

Karna has travelled extensively overseas and even worked in London for a time. Karna and her husband Ricky had their own business as Stock Agents and Auctioneers in Dandenong for a number of years.

One of their main interests is breeding Australian Stock Horses and Stud Shorthorn Cattle as well as preparing and showing them. About twenty years ago the couple moved to the Goulburn Valley and these days have a property at Tongala.

Karna has judged at a number of shows and in the year 2000 she was the compere of the cattle judging at the Royal Melbourne Show and for a few years was on the Shorthorn cattle committee at the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria.

On her days off she enjoys nothing better than socialising with friends and enjoying her horses and cattle.

Karna has had experience in public speaking, being the compere of fashion parades, taking part in adjudicating and judging show girl competitions, which is a field where Karna has personal experience - from her teenage days when she competed in and won several show girl competitions. Karna is also a member of the Nathalia Lions Club.

Karna has many years of experience in Rural Sales and has worked for one of Australia’s biggest Rural Real Estate Companies, prior to her starting her own business.

Her experience in Real Estate extends to any type of Property, irrespective of whether it is Rural, Residential, Commercial or Property Management. Karna's business lists and sells properties throughout the district and across the Goulburn Valley area.

All of this experience together with her Auctioneer’s Licence gives Karna an all-round solid grounding in Real Estate.

Denise Raftis

Denise Raftis was born and raised in the Lake District in England and immigrated to Australia with her parents in 1970 where they settled in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Denise’s career has developed over time starting in her late teens at Business School in Boxhill, then a 3 year stint in the Regular Army. Whilst raising a family Denise concentrated on working in Accounting and in sales positions. The last 8 years have been dedicated to Real Estate, listing and selling properties whilst working in Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura, Kyabram and right throughout the Greater Shepparton area.

Having travelled and lived in a diverse amount of cities, countries and townships including Northcote, Alphington, Noble Park and Bayswater - 3 years in PNG, 2 years in Perth, 4 years in Invergordon and for the last 23 years living in Lancaster on an irrigated 100 acre farm, Denise now considers herself to be a “local” and has a good knowledge of the area and the Greater Shepparton district and is very familiar with the problems and joy associated with living on the land.

Denise has 5 daughters;  Rebecca, Melissa, Melanie, Kate and Jacqueline who all attended school at St Augustine’s  in Kyabram and Notre Dame in Shepparton and who are now grown with the eldest 3 daughters having children of their own;  5 boys – Dylan, Callum, Brody, Rory and Trey.

With a strong sense of community and a desire to help others, Denise has been a volunteer with the Goulburn Valley branch of Make-a-Wish (Australia) for the past five years and regularly attends fundraising functions to help the Foundation raise money for its valuable work.

Denise’s  other interests include travelling,  motorbike riding, health, wellbeing and meditation, cooking – especially Italian and traditional English dishes, looking after the farm, gardening and of course helping people achieve their objectives when it comes to Real Estate.

Denise’s motto is to live life to the full in happiness and health, and it is a principle that she lives by.
